Outwest Campground & R.V. Park is a family owned and operated facility, located in the foothills of West Central Alberta. Built in 2005-2006 by David and Darlene McDonald, it is situated on family owned land which borders the Rocky Mountain Forest Reserve, above the beautiful Prairie Creek valley.
The first phase is just about complete with over eighty spacious stalls, almost all of which are drive-through. The stalls are large, about 60 feet wide and 90 feet long with roughly one half of each stall remaining treed. All stalls are serviced with power and all but 7 have water. A mixture of 15, 30 and 50 amp services are available and each stall is equipped with a picnic table and fire box. In the center of the campground, we have left a large, (almost two acre) park for your enjoyment and relaxation. This beautiful quiet space has strategically placed tables and benches, along with game areas.
A central dumping station is easily accessible for sewage disposal and Outwest will provide a cleanout service for those folks who wish to park for a longer period. Built to accommodate the largest of recreation vehicles, Outwest prides itself on its user friendliness, from it’s easy to park stalls to its helpful and friendly staff. Two separate shower and bathroom facilities, a laundry, a large parking lot, and a small retail space for those items you forgot to pack, compliment our service.
Located in some of the most scenic and accessible areas in the Eastern Slopes, the area immediately surrounding us has trails lakes, rivers and hills from the most sedate to the most challenging. With this in mind, Outwest was built to be A.T.V. friendly. You may slowly and quietly, drive your machine from the entrance to your stall, and a high pressure wash station will be available to let you take the mud off your machine before heading home. Dry fire-wood is available for your evening enjoyment. Two group areas are coming soon. A number of stalls are designed to have all season availability.
Come and experience the wonderful scenery of our Eastern Slopes by bike, A.T.V., horseback, on foot, or from your campsite, in Alberta’s newest camping facility,” built just for you”.
